Foundation Supports 400th Grantee
New milestone reached in mission to reduce recidivism
The Bob Barker Foundation hit a new milestone in May by supporting its 400th grantee organization. Since its inception in 2009, the Foundation has granted more than $8 million to organizations that work to reduce recidivism.
“Supporting our 400th grantee certainly is an amazing accomplishment, but the bigger story is that we have been able to positively affect more than 3.5 million lives,” said Kurtis Taylor, Executive Director of the Bob Barker Foundation. “The people who return to their families and their communities with a new sense of purpose and responsibility is what we try to celebrate every day.”
The Bob Barker Foundation is the only foundation in the country with the sole purpose of reducing recidivism. It does so by partnering with organizations that help people reenter society after being incarcerated. Those organizations often specialize in job placement, restorative reentry, education, substance abuse recovery, ministry and more.
