At Bob Barker Company, we're proud to manufacture our most popular mattresses right here in America. Since 1975, we've had a cut and sew operation in North Carolina, and in 2021 we added mattress manufacturing capabilities in our Utah distribution center. What started as a simple process has grown to include some of the most advanced mattresses for detention and corrections facilities.
In 1990, Bob Barker Company launched the polyester core mattress, which soon became the industry standard. Throughout the years, we added other mattress innovations to our offering, like sealed seam mattresses, mattresses with scrim for extra security, clear cover mattresses to make contraband detection easier, and more.
With comfort and durability being some of the top requests from our customers, we offer a variety of mattresses with different cover and core combinations, like TPU or vinyl covers, and polyester, foam or cotton cores. Several of our mattresses have options for integrated pillows as well. We are consistently working with customers to learn more about their mattress needs. For example, we recently launched the Spartan® Ripstop Polyester Mattress that answers several customer requirements related to durability and strength. The ripstop cover holds up to the demands of the corrections and detention environments, while still offering comfort during sleep.
By manufacturing our mattresses in the United States, we can ensure the best quality and customer service for our customers. And with our new manufacturing capabilities in Utah, we are able to offer better prices to our west coast customers than ever before.
